Jenolan Caves is approximately 2.5 hours west of Sydney and well worth the drive. There are plenty of photographic landscape opportunities all along the way from the Blue Mountains to Jenolan State Forest and then there’s the cave tour where you will encounter many unique natural formations.
I managed to take a few HDR shots using the current flagship Canon 1Ds Mark III camera during the trip which is something I haven’t done much of the past year due to time. Most of my previous HDR images were created on the Canon 30D which although is a few generations outdated is still a great camera. The differences between the two in terms image quality and HDR is enormous and you would need to see the actual prints just to fully appreciate it. Going from a 12bit 8MP RAW file to a 14bit 21MP one also requires a lot more space and processing power but the amount of detail gained is incredible.
